Beneficial Owner
A beneficial owner is an individual who ultimately owns or controls an entity such as a company, trust, or partnership. This includes anyone who owns 25% or more of the entity or who otherwise exercises substantial influence over the company.
Control person
A control person is an individual who exercises substantial control over a company's operations or decision-making. This can include senior officers, major decision-makers, and those with the power to appoint or remove key personnel.
Certifier
A certifier is typically the person responsible for completing and signing the Certification of Beneficial Owners form. This form is required by federal regulation to help fight financial crime by disclosing key individuals who own or control a legal entity.
